Hi Jack,

Thanks for pointing out some aspects which we certainly need to improve. I agree that tighter integration with feed readers will only make Toluu a better product.

John and I have spoken a few times about the value of having a URI based OPML file hosted on Toluu so that you could 'try' out other user's feeds as well as use it is a central repository for your feeds.

We are always improving our algorithm and should have some announcements about some major improvements soon.

We have thought about ways to help people communicate more on the site and messaging is certainly an option, I wonder if you would find it more useful than say using twitter or friendfeed to send messages.

I don't know about newsgator, but unfortunately Toluu only allows to upload an OPML file not an OPML URL...I too questioned this.

Toluu can't synch with Newsgator, the only thing it has is a bookmarklet. When you see a feed you like you hit the Toluu bookmarklet and once it adds it, it then proceeds to add it to your RSS Reader.

Toluu is more a feature product, something Google Reader should do, but in saying that Toluu brings together people who use all different RSS Readers.

I'd love for all KM bloggers to get onto Toluu, it would be a hell of a feed exchange...great discovery.

But I agree it's got to work more closely with your RSS Reader, like an extension of your RSS Reader.

Also it doesn't quite have a stickiness factor, you go feed shopping every now and again. They could add networking so we can message each other.

"Discover" is not good yet, need to wait for it to scale.

Okay, I signed up, but I am not sure I "get" it. Shouldn't Toluu read my NewsGator feeds URL (is there one?) and then keep my feeds list constantly updated?

And either my feeds are obscure, or there aren't enough users yet. I matched JohnT (my only contact) and a few of his contacts. But I don't think there was anything to "discover."

Do I let it simmer for a while first?
