Facebook : notifications and posting

I noticed that now my Facebook Inbox has a notifications tab, and it will list when people write on my wall, and comment on my photos and notes…cool, so when I go to Facebook I can check out this area first to see responses to my content…but where’s the RSS feed so I don’t have to go to Facebook to find out.

Sure there is email notifications for everything, but it only notifies, it doesn’t include content…as mentioned in my previous post on Facebook, a nice systems tray app to get updates and post to Facebook would be awesome.

Facebook need not worry that I wouldn’t have to be at their site to interact, the fact I’d be using it “over the wall” means that I’m always connected, I’m always using it, etc…
If I couldn’t use Twitter via: SMS, email, phone, RSS, app, IM…then I simply wouldn’t be using it as much.

News feed - what my friends do (on their profiles)

Inbox notifications - my friends commenting on my profile (wall, photo’s, notes)

News feed - I can subscribe to the feed of my friends: Notes, Photo’s and Posted Items (but not Status, and Wall)

Inbox notifications - There is email notifications for every interaction others have with my profile

I’d like to see the Inbox notifications have replies to Posted Items, and also have replies to wall posts and discussion posts that I make at various groups.

UPDATES

When I first open Facebook I…

1. Check my Inbox for:
- messages
- Note comments
- Wall comments
- Photo comments
…what about Posted Items?
…what about replies to content I post at Groups?

2. Check my News Feed to see what my friends are up to and their Status on the sidebar

3. See who is online now

How can I do this on the other side of the wall…

1. Can’t do step 1 at all

2. I can get an RSS feed for my friends Notes, Posted Items, Status and Photo’s…not too bad, but missing out on lots of stuff, especially content coming from 3rd party apps.
I can also get status via SMS eg. status John Smith or ‘friends’

3. Can’t do this, not sure if Hictu includes Facebook online indicator, as it does for IM indicators.

Getting more picky, the News Feed doesn’t tell me if any of my friends leave a comment on another of my friends Wall, Note, Posted Items, Photo, etc…
