Congoo - pre-made news aggregator

Congoo allows you to choose from various categories, then generates a public URL for your personalised news page.
Read news by category or latest stream, also has Google News style memtracking

Actually it reminds me a lot of customising Google News, only this is done by search strings.

It looks great, but isn’t very web 2.0, I want to get in there and choose my own sources, and remix them, once I created the RSS radar feeds, then I’d like to use Congoo to present my news.

What about allowing you to create your own Congoo for the enterprise, select (and remix) your sources, bunch them into categories, and then give them to the knowledge worker to select channels for their own personalised news page…also has a public URL, so you can make one for your business unit.

Maybe this is what the BlogBridge Feed Library could offer.

[ADDED 29/03/07: I just noticed more features
- widgets for your blog sidebar
- add your own posts, also has comments
- comments for any item
- a links box
- favourite circles (bookmark other Congoo’s)
- keyword searches…I’d like to include these as a focus channel
- personal alerts]

  1. Not sure if this is what you meant, but BlogBridge Feed Library is offered as a product for enterprises to run inside their firewall or on our server. We supply the format they supply the recommended feeds. (We can also help populating the library.) See: http://www.blogbridge.com/products-services/feed-library/how-would-you-like-it/

  3. Pito,

Congoo supplies the sources, actually they supply categories (you don’t even know the sources), whereas BB Feed Library allows a moderator to create topics of feeds, BBFL put you in charge, this is better…someone like the librarian could do this for the enterprise.

BB Feed Library is feeds grouped into topic batches, just browse a topic, and see all the feeds inside, grab the OPML or just single feeds to subscribe.

What I like about Congoo is that it also presents the content into a river of news aggregator that can have a public URL.
So in BB Feed Library you could choose a category/s and subscribe to them and have then displayed on your own page, at the moment BB feed library is just the finding part, it lacks offering a presentation page…novice’s won’t know what to do with feeds or OPML…even if they do use an RSS Reader, they may want a public URL they can share.
