Roundup : Quickeo, decipho, yourmini’s blog widgets, 30boxes blog timeline

Quickeo - in the tradition of izimi, dekoh, and tubes…Quickeo is a file sharing download application. The sender sends an email of your desktop files and the recipient, via the emails can flash based stream or download the files.
From their FAQ:
“It simplifies the transfer of private multi-media files for both the sender (no uploading to a server necessary*) and the receiver (no downloading necessary).”…you can even use it with a online file storage service.
The idea is ease of use and also opting to share your stuff with groups, rather than open to all on a social network.

decipho - a search engine (powered by ask), refine search by tag…these tags are generated by decipho as it is a social bookmark service as well…this is a kind of clustering based not on the machine but by user tags.

Enter your keyword and also enter tag/s, this way the hits containing this keyword will be limited to the webpages that are tagged with the tags you entered.

I think I would like a different way of doing this, perhaps enter a keyword and you are offered tags of similar names.

Why don’t del.icio.us do this via Yahoo! search, what would happen is at del.icio.us you could search the web (Yahoo!), each hit in the results will list tags if they have already been tagged in del.icio.us, if a hit doesn’t have any tags, then you can tag it if you like (this will add it to del.icio.us).
Anyway if you click on a tag listed underneath a hit in your search results, it will go to that tag page in del.icio.us, so what has happenend is you are searching the web, and when you find a hit you like, you have a chance of finding related/similar stuff according to users.
Another option woudl be to just search the human indexed web according to del.icio.us, ie. full-text search of all bookmarks in del.icio.us.
What I’m hoping for one day is the meta-human indexed web search engine, what Zniff does for Spurl, Wink also search full-text across different bookmark services as well as its own, and the unforgotten Gataga. Ideally this would be searching the tagosphere, which was my prediction for 2006…got that one wrong.

yourmini’s blog widgets - as you can guess a blog widget tag gallery (save to startpage or the web, don’t see desktop)..see the others.

30boxes blog timeline - a scrolling calendar widget of all your blog posts (or a badge), check out mine.

If this badge doesn’t work click here.

Create your own….hmmm Twitter timelines.

  1. Thanks for including izimi in the list. As far as I can tell, other ’similar’ services to izimi seem to shy away from the social network model, while izimi embraces it head-on. So much is being developed for izimi right now (the service is only 2 weeks old), so keep your eye on
