In the past I have talked about attention and also about personal content streams or networks like Ziki and Lijit or even mugshot and others. I have also mentioned how Lijit doubles up as a social search filter.

Now comes a new social network called Slifeshare, it allows people to look at your real-time attention, ie. people can see what you are doing now:
- what YouTube clips are you looking at now
- what music you are listening to now
- what feeds you are reading now
- what websites you are reading now

From the help page:

“When you get a Slifeshare, you need to download a small application that we provide called Slife. When it runs, Slife sits back and watches as you use your computer. It observes which web sites you visit, what kinds of music you listen to, which RSS feeds you read, etc and streams these observations up to your Slifeshare for display. “

Like all social networks you add friends, see recent visitors, and it also recommends friends (called neighbours) according to your content and I guess to the level of how much you like this content, ie. attention.
Attention gives you a level of degree of what someone likes, if I browse to a page once is different to if I browse to it again and again, or if I browse to extremely similar pages again and again…so this adds a degree of not just what you like but how much you like something.

Similar to a reporting feature you can also get an aggregate view of your friends attention, eg. you can see which YouTube videos were most popular among all of your friends on a given week, what are the top websites of the weeks according to your friends, what is the hottest band according to your friends.

My feedback is this could be extended to a group, just like they do for the whole of Slifeshare:
- what are the 10 most common outlinks (what websites are they pointing to) from blog posts from all members in this group over the past week
- what are the 10 most clicked on feed or feed items from all members in this group over the past week
- what are the 10 most common saved bookmarks from all members in this group over the past week
- what are the 10 most viewed websites from all members in this group over the past week

No service is without widgets, place a box on your blog that lists the top websites you looked at today.

I wonder if you can leave messages to an inbox, or IM each other.

MailEmotion.tv - another video email service, also see Gabmail, EyeJot, Turboflix

RSS Preview Blum - checks to see if a web page has an RSS feed, and the ability to subscribe to the feeds with several RSS readers or social bookmark sites, and also to view it in Grazr.

decode - yet another camera phone barcode decoding service, also see ShotCode, BeeTagg, and MyTago.

webwait - times how long a webpage takes to load (also takes into account java/ajax processing, so this is a real total time)…mine took 343 seconds, that’s embarassing. One day I will clean up my blog sidebar and categories, but for now just keeping up with content takes all my time.

rcache - seems to cache websites like Furl.

Data Extractor - scrape a list of links on a webpage, or query heaps of files to extract email addresses and HTML links without having to open each page and look for the links and cut ‘n paste them. Instead this is all automatic and generates a txt file…see more.

Advanced URL Catalog - export bookmarks from a file to your browser, amongst other features.

My Data Stream - this is more of a hack than a service, but it achieves the same thing as mugshot and others, a content stream of all the services you belong to…also see a similar hack.
