FeedFlinger : a mashed up RSS Reader

CleverClogs has the latest on the new RSS mashup called FeedFlinger, see the help.

It’s a nifty on the fly RSS Reader…when you launch to the page it will already have some feeds loaded (not sure how top delete these).

To read a feed of your own choice, just type in the FindMe box…mouse over for a summary, or click to add.

NOTE: this searches for terms in the feed URL, so a search for library clips didn’t work, I had to do libraryclips

Click the down arrow to see your latest posts, mouse over to read a summary of the post.

As you read posts a term extraction kicks in, displaying on the sidebar the most frequent terms…similar to TagCloud, ZoomClouds, WizAg and MyFeedz. But unlike these services, if you click on a term it will not show you just posts with these terms, what it does is pops that term in the search area so you can find feeds with that term appearing in the feed URL.

Best of all, once you have got your subscription set you can bookmark it in your browser or at a social bookmark service, this way you don’t have to recreate your subscription set. Next time you want to read your feeds in FeedFlinger, just open your bookmark (it has its own unique URL).

OPML import would be great.

  1. Hi, Marco. Yeah, I’d love to be able to import from other sources … but so far Feedburner is the only one brave enough to supply JSON-format output.

The sample feed set will always come up when you first enter Feedflinger. Click the little X at the right of each to remove them.
