Pheeder : audio social network
Call Pheeder and leave a message, seconds later all your friends or contacts will instantly receive a text message alerting them that you’ve left a new voice message on your pheed and they can call in to retrieve that message whenever they want. Then they can reply to your message, or forward the message on to their own pheed.
They can also check on the web as Pheeder is a social network, all people have a user space, and you can look up pheeds by tag.
It reminds me of Sponit or Loopnote, but using voice blogging instead of normal text blogging (and the fact that you don’t have to be on the web to post), actually it is probably most similar to Evoca (an audio social network where you can phone in your audio snippets). I suppose Twitter and Jaiku are similar, but posts from all users are not organised by tag. Like these services each user can see who is following them, and who they follow.

Hi John,
I was very curious to start exploring Pheeder, seeing several bloggers of name to have signed up, but unfortunately the service requires a US-based, 10-digit cell phone number.
This limitation should be mentioned on the homepage. I wonder if I could subscribe to someone’s voice feed to inform me when this limitation is lifted.
Talking of feeds, what do you think of the fact that strong advocates of RSS technology such as Pheeder don’t seem to be publishing a development news feed or a team blog themselves?

This happens sometimes, doesn’t it, it’s their loss as most bloggers are updated by reading feeds. I’m afraid if a service doesn’t have a feed, then I’m not gonna know the latest, and in turn the readers of my blog won’t find out through me.
Any service listening out there, feeds are essential for us to spread the word.
I agree, if they were extra smart their update feed would be an audio feed
