Jyngle : SMS group alerts
Jyngle is similar to Loopnote, you can create an alert service for a contact list or group. Rather than members in the group alerting each other it is more leader to group based, ie. one person send out the alerts.
There is a big difference with Loopnote, in that it is a social network, your notes have a web presence in a blog like format, you can post by a webform or email, people can subscribe by RSS, email, IM or SMS, people can leave comments or send a private message.
Whereas Jyngle doesn’t have a web presence and people can only be aware of alerts or the group if they are invited.
The power of Jyngle is in its various ways of sending an alert to the group, and it’s not just about SMS, you can also send a group voice message.
From the webform you can:
- SMS, upload an audio file, record a message or text to voice
From your phone you can:
- SMS, dial a number and record a voicemail
There are lots of similar services, group SMS is hot right now…lots of these services are more based as person to person, instead of only a leader being able to post an alert.
So there seems to be 2 use cases:
- alert the soccer team training is off
- friends sending each other group SMS

I like it!
