Loopnotes : social network blogs, loops that is
Loopnote is a generic type simple blog in a social network, where subscribers can easily be notified by email, RSS, IM or SMS…leave comments and also send private notes.
Creating a loop is like your blog, but way much less committment than a blog, plus you can set up many loops…so for this purpose loops are more effective than standard blogs. Loops are like topics, you can use them in a disposable way if you like, as your loop (topic) may only be relevant for a day or a week.
It’s basically noting/blogging in a social network with plenty of delivery methods, the bonus is as a user you can create lots of loops.
I wonder if they will have multi-authored loops, it is a different model to CommonGate, but they have a similarity…it also reminds of some me of list sites, but instead if a list you are posting blog-type entries.
Come to think of it another similarity is Twitter and Zemble, and also del.icio.us (note, this is for links not notes), basically you are creating a channel for people to subscribe to your note alerts.
Reason I say del.icio.us, is that people can subscribe to one of your tags to get updated on the latest, well Loopnote is making a product out of this, and it’s not limited to links. In comparison to a users del.icio.us tag, instead of a tag space they have a blog (loop) type interface, and you can post notes including images, links, etc…
Another comparison would be like note services such as ShortText, this is no way near as a fully-fledged system as Loopnote, but it has a similar idea where the blog format isn’t the only way to post and keep people updated with the latest, although the updates in Loopnote are delivered in many ways.
Even Feedbite has a text blog space, see more.

hi, thanks for the post about us. I think you’re totally getting the concept. I like the analogy between blogging and social networking. To answer your question, yes, loops can have multiple authors. When you create a loop you can choose to allow any subscriber to post or you can restrict it to only people with the posting password (which you choose). Anyway, take a look around and feel free to let us know what you think. Thanks! Alan- co-founder, loopnote
