A Consuming Experience has a great post on mobile feed reading, covering WidSets, RSS widgets for your mobile phone…you can even create a button so people can read your blog widget on their mobile phone.
It seems Plusmo is a kind of similar service, with buttons for bloggers as well.

You can also read feeds on the Tiggdo mobile startpage.

NOTE: I wonder if the Feedburner landing page could incorporate Plusmo, Tiggdo and WidSets…why not be able to customise this page yourself.

As far as feeds on mobile devices go, I have heard about mobile desktop readers such as FeederReader, Newsgator mobile, and mobile web-based readers such as Bloglines, Google Reader…see more mobile readers.

Then there are sites such as winksite (much more than an RSS Reader), and reading audio posts (voiceindigo).

Another choice to read text feeds on a mobile was the notion of textcasting and just general text reading on an ipod.

Anyway, my new SonyEricsson k610i has an built in RSS Reader, not sure how to use it, but it will cost me to browse the net on my phone…I wonder if I can update my feeds on a PC via the USB cable.

NOTE: I can also send images with text to a blogger mobile blog…pretty cool.

So my choices were install a desktop/widget reader (too much trouble and expensive), use a mobile web-based reader (too expensive), use the built in reader (too expensive)…all was lost when I thought about my mobile email.

My mobile phone provider allows me to create 3 email accounts, one will do for me…even better I’m allowed to receive emails for free!!!

NOTE: Since you are reading email’s off the providers server; it’s only worth reading full-text feeds (clicking links will launch to the web, and the costs money), also images won’t come across in the email.

So take your choice from the major RSS to email services : FeedBlitz, Rmail, Rasasa, ZapTXT.

NOTE: Another choice was to use Simply Headlines, but these are only summaries (they have both an email option or straight to mobile option).

For some reasion entering my mobile email address wasn’t working at first try with one of the above services, so I have set up a Gmail account and entered this email address into one of the services above, then I got my Gmail to forward emails to my mobile phone email address.

Yippee, reading feeds on the go, at no cost at all, email is kind.

NOTE: I probably could of used my current Gmail account and filtered it to forward only the emails I want going to my mobile.

It’s not just for RSS, nowadays when I haven’t got time to read an email I just forward it to my mobile email, or if I haven’t got time to read a webpage I just cut ‘n paste the text into an email and sent it to my mobile email.

Both PDF’s and Word can be converted to text, otherwise use the Gmail workaround.

NOTE: I can email word attachments or drag word attachments into my mobile, but it won’t read them, not sure if my model phone has software for this. I haven’t tried to open a txt file in my phone, if so, I could drag txt files into my phone, instead of emailing content.

By the way, if your phone doesn’t have email, just use Flurry, here’s how it works.

Now I’m wondering if Flurry can send emails to the memory stick on my phone, as my phone only has 19MB of internal memory…same goes with my built-in email, I wonder if these emails can be sent to my memory stick or at least I could save them to my memory stick, or drag them to my memory stick via the USB cable hook up to the PC.

Reason is, if I decide to subscribe to 50 feeds and get them sent via RSS to email, my phone storage could max out with one update.
