Sponit : generic social network blogs
Just trawling through my backlog of email from the last year and I came across an invite to Sponit.
It’s kind of like a real simple version of clipmarks…it’s like a social blog network.
Basically you get your own user space, here you post items (just like a blog post), give it tags…each post has a permalink, and people can leave comments.
When you click on a tag from a post, it will show all posts from all users with this tag (pity you can’t limit this to one user, pity each user space doesn’t have it’s own tag cloud)…it would also be good if you could collect your comments.
Come to think of it, alot of the list and Q&A services of late are similar to this…everyone gets their own generic blogging user space, and you discover posts by tags.

sponit is a sort of alternative blogging site started by a trio of UC Berkeley college students. Its aim is to let people share “stories and photos or completely crazy things that are happening around town.”
We first heard about Sponit back in December, but it was buggy and in closed beta. We’ve been trading emails with one of the creators, Darian Shirazi, ever since. The site is open now, and he says it’s worked through its initial issues.
