Private blogs

A while ago I posted about my quest in finding a way to do private blogging.

The idea was spurred by my need to document my daily happenings in an electronic journal, that way I could jot my dealings with tasks, ideas, etc…personal knowledge management for my eyes only.
If I want to share posts I could have that option, and I could also distill the cream of it in a wiki for public viewing.

The best way to do this was using the Outlook journal feature, but what I wanted was a blog…I soon forgot about this quest, but today I came across private versions for Blogger.

Looks like it’s nothing new anyway.

I suppose a note service or the Simpy notes module would do it.

Tagging for Outlook email

Alex Barnett points me to Taglocity, this is a plug in for Outlook 2003.

Plain and simple it allows you to tag your emails via a toolbar…so now you can use categories as buckets, and tagging as more specific keywords, or use it anyway you want, it’s just another chance to organise and find stuff.

Those who use Gmail already know the beauty of tagging emails, only Taglocity has one up, instead of a list of tags, it is visually represented in a tag cloud.

When you send an email it also sends the tags along with it, not a bad idea in suggesting tags for the recipient…your project team can develop a consensus in tagging emails…read more.

Another thing it also does is allow you to auto-tag your email, I suppose this is similar to Tagcloud, Zoomclouds…RSS Readers such as MyFeedz and WizAg also have this feature built in.

Check out the demo…it seems you can also tag tasks, meetings, change an email to a task, filter Outlook items by tags, a search interface, etc…see the FAQ.

Now what we need is Gmail threading of emails, this is a must.
