RSS Reader notification

Check out this systems tray notification pop-up from the new desktop RSS Reader, ScoopScanner (scroll to end).

A while back when I was using SharpReader, I thought it had the best notification thus far, every new item pops up in your systems tray, and you can click straight to it…but ScoopScanner doesn’t seem to have a pop-up for every item, instead there is a list of new items you can page through.

I’m not sure of the settings, but maybe you can set it to go off every hour, so you are not flooded with constant pop-ups, just the fact that it’s in a list limits the number of pop-ups compared to one for each item.

I wonder if you can set it to only notify you of items in certain feeds or certain folders, and if it could even be sorted this way in the notification window.

I like the fact that a traditional RSS Reader has this feature, instead of having to use a separate RSS alert service, like AlertBear.
