HTML 2 PDF : snapshot of your blog

Library Stuff points to a handy tool that converts a HTML into PDF, aptly named HTML2PDF…more.

Enter in the URL of your blog homepage or a blog post and get a PDF you can save or print.

A similar tool is RSS2PDF, this can also create a PDF of your blog, but based on the RSS content, not the HTML content…handy if you haven’t got a HTML representation of your RSS feed eg. publi.sh.

RSS2PDF also allows you to enter an OPML to see content sorted by feed…the great part about allowing OPML is that you can use the bookmarks sidebar to jump from blog to blog…or with RSS you can jump from post to post (HTML 2 PDF doesn’t have this feature).

HTML 2 PDF is more like a snap shot of the webpage, whereas RSS2PDF is just the raw post content, no sidebar stuff, etc…

Also, the result from HTML 2 PDF doesn’t live at a web URL, you have to save it and upload it to your server…whereas RSS2PDF is hosted.

HTML 2 PDF would be handy to have underneath each blog post eg. bookmark it, email it, pdf it (save/print), etc…but you’d have to have the search box already filled in for each permalink…how would you set this up.

I’d like to make a link here that you can click on and it will have my blog homepage URL already pre-populated in the search box at the HTML 2 PDF home page…I don’t know how, so you’ll have to enter it manually…doh!

In that case, to compare both services I’ll use the Library Stuff blog, since Steven Cohen uploaded his HTML 2 PDF conversion to a web server.

Let’s compare:
