Tags for your sidebar via Technorati

Just an update, since Technorati has enabled permalinks for each tag in a user profile, you can use these as tags/categories for your blog…see my post.

Now at the end of each post you can point to Technorati tags at the user space level instead of the general level, when on this page you will be one click away of viewing the tag at the general level anyway…one click away from discovery.

FreshBlog has come up with an easy bookmarklet to generate code for each post that points to the tag at your user space.

Many people still like bookmarking all posts in del.icio.us, and pointing to their tag user space at del.icio.us at the end of every post as it is more secure, instead of relying on Technorati indexing your blog which may not be precise…also del.icio.us has a great tagroll to display on your blog, I wonder if Technorati will provide code for a tag cloud for each profile…anyone hacked this yet?

…I noticed Alex Barnett from the CWH network, dropped his user tag cloud from Technorati into a post, I wonder if this same code can be placed in the sidebar, and for it to update as you update your user space at Technorati.

Otherwise the option is to hard code each URL into your sidebar which could takes a long time, and isn’t as fancy as a tag cloud…although if you only use 5-10 tags for your blog (more like categories), then this is a viable option…here’s an example.

See more about category hacks at FreshBlog Blogger Hack - The Series…an impressive one is by Improbulus from the CWH

Another impressive one is by naked sex monkey, where you bookmark each post in del.icio.us, and put these del.icio.us tags in your sidebar, the difference is that when someone clicks on a del.icio.us tag on your sidebar it shows the results locally, in your own blog, without having to launch to del.icio.us

…I wonder if this will work with the del.icio.us tagroll (tag cloud)

…I wonder if you can do the same using the Technorati method as explained above.
