Wanabo: visitor tags for your blog
Wanabo has only been around a month, and already enhancements are on the go…check out Library Stuff’s implementation.
It wasn’t long ago that I did a post on visitor tags, well now Wanabo makes this possible…another way is to highlight keywords visitors use when searching your site via embedding a Swicki search box, actually Wanabo also has this variation, in that it automatically creates tags according to your search traffic.
Anyway I requested a general tag cloud, which has been implemented, but more interesting I want to be able to only add tags to my posts, ie. an author version of Wanabo.
At the end of every post, I’d like to add some tags, and if people click on these it will launch a box that has a title index of my blog by tag…and also host the tag cloud on my sidebar.
At the moment each post has a list of tags on the sidebar that represent the post, as I mentioned I’d rather this appear within the body of the blog post (at the end), and just have a tag cloud for all posts on the sidebar.
If not possible the other option is to host them both on the sidebar, so you could have a box that says “Tags for this post”, and another that says “Tag cloud of this blog”…but what about when you are on the home page of your blog, then all we would hopefully see is only the tag cloud for the whole blog.
Also to keep in mind is that the box “Tags for this post” has to be quite high up on your sidebar, otherwise people won’t see it when reading shorter blog posts that stop before the box scrolls/appears on the sidebar.
