Talk Digger: regional conversations
Talk Digger has added a new setting to the results sorting, now you can sort not only by most recent, or by PageRank, but also by country.
From what I can make out it will take preference of the country domain extension…I wonder how it will recognise my blog, my domain extension is “.com”, I live in Australia, and I think my blog host is from Ireland
…I don’t think it can read blog profiles, then again not everyone fills these in anyway, or a blog may not have a formal profile.

Hi John,
Thanks for the featuring. It works in two ways:
1- Check the domain extension.
2- If the domain extension is generic, then it check where it is hosted. I confirm that the Ireland flag appears for your blog. This is a problem and it is why I wrote that it is 70% acurate.
I will probably develop a third step that will check if there is a FOAF file attached to the web page, or any other type of profile to check where the author come from. However the problem is always the same: rapidity and bandwidth in a real time system…
Salutations,
Fred
