RSS to IM, email: monitor subscribers?
immedi.at is an RSS to IM system.
Just load their bookmarklet to your links bar, and when you find a feed you want to monitor, click the bookmarklet and it will ask you which IM client you use, and away you go, updates by IM.
MSN alerts already has an official system set up for RSS to IM .
Does this now mean Feedburner will have to track which IM clients are reading our feeds by monitoring immedi.at somehow.
Related to this can Feedburner track which RSS to email clients are reading our feeds, like blogarithm, ERA, bot-a-blog, RMail, RSSFWD … (I know the number of subscribers who use FeedBlitz, but the others don’t let you know if people are reading your feed).

hi it’s dick from feedburner. …on the email front, more and more email providers are working with us to help report the number of subscribers, and that will continue. we now break that out in the stats.
on the IM front, yes, it does mean we will need to track that and we are going to not only do that, but we are going to provide some compelling integration points here as well. stay tuned.

R-mail reports the number of subscribers to FeedBurner. And, if you have a significant number of subs, then you’ll show up in our top feeds page.

Blogarithm also reports the number of subscribers to FeedBurner. We added this support last month: FeedBurner aggregation. It is important for bloggers to get an accurate picture of their readership, so we also report the number of subscribers for our service separately on our blog detail pages. Here is the Library clips detail page. No subscribers unfortunately, as you can tell because we haven’t checked the site since April.
