Hi John,

This is so funny...
I had a talk last Friday and presented similar ideas:

http://pascal.vanhecke.info/wp-content/upload_files/20051007_Linklogs/Linklogs_javascript.html

BTW, another Wordpress + internal tagging plugin is
http://www.neato.co.nz/ultimate-tag-warrior/
, this is a tutorial:

Should find some time to play with it myself soon...

John,

I just had a look at your blog, awesome stuff...subscribed!

I like the bookmarklet that generates the HTML code, or even better using the form in the blogger post area, but what would be total automation is when you publish a post it automatically publishes to del.icio.us at the same time.

It seems that the site I point to in <a href="http://libraryclips.blogsome.com/2005/08/24/wordpress-delicious-auto-bookmarks-of-blog-posts/">this post</a> is not there anymore, although this was dealing with Wordpress and not Blogger. (Although I'm not sure if it posted with the "rel=" included in the code, as it was publishing <strong>categories</strong> from your blog into del.icio.us or simpy)

I also like the fact that del.icio.us can show a title index of your blog, I find my blog posts much quicker scrolling in a title index, and it would be good if this could be easily imported into the sidebar of your blog (even though clicking on a link leaves your blog and goes to del.icio.us, oh well whataya gonna do)

...and you can even offer feeds for each del.icio.us tag, so people can subscribe to micro-content parts of your blog, even track these tag feeds by running them through Feedburner (as long as there aren't too many, depends how you tag)

I don't know why, but that URL 'Do Tags Works?' is 404ing. Could be a bad character.

I have been working on this for some time, &amp; use del.icio.us as a substitute category manager for Freshblog, which is hosted on Google Blogspot.

There's lots of different tools out there now to enable these functions. Many of them have been blogged at Freshblog &amp; are accessible from my "categories" category on del.icio.us.

http://del.icio.us/jrfj44/categories

I use del.icio.us because I don't have access to my own server, &amp; use the rel="tag" attribute to duplicate content into tag search services. I found a noticeable increase in traffic when I started tagging &amp; bookmarking to del.icio.us, &amp; would recommend it.

Thanks for pushing the discussion forward w. this post. :-)
