Google with del.icio.us clusters

Google + Del.icio.us = Search Context explains a search engine using tags as clusters in the search results screen.

ie. most popular tags, for the pages returned in the results.

So this is mixing together the wonders of traditional search engines and user-defined websites (socialbookmarks) to give more context to the web.

  1. Tony @ ponderer.org is close to what you’re describing: he created a Greasemonkey script called annotate Google, which inserts two links (”info”, “tags”) after the first line of each Google hit on a search results page. Click on the “info” link, and you’re taken to the del.icio.us page showing all the user bookmarks for that URL. Click on the “tags” link, and a little green box pops up showing the tags that have been applied by del.icio.us users to that URL (mini screenshot).
