Podcasts in RSS readers
See this post explaining the lastest about podcast feeds picked up by You Subscribe: RSS lastest version. (This RSS reader is a plug-in to Outlook)
Another post notifies of Blogline’s venture into this territory.
From this post:
“However, using Bloglines to actually retrieve and/or play podcasted content loses some of the interesting functionality of “specialized podcasting software.” The content will not be downloaded automatically and added to your media player library, nor will it be ready to bounce onto your player the next time you synch up, which is much of the true beauty of the podcast format.”
This is contrary to You Subscribe: RSS, the former post mentions:
“Version 0.95 makes it easy to listen to your favorite audio content on your computer, iPod or other portable player when it’s convenient for you by automatically loading Podcast audio files into easy to find iTunes or Windows Media Player playlists. The new version includes a list of popular Podcasts making it easy to get started.”
I’m not too familiar with podcasts but I don’t want a separate reader just for podcasts, I’d like Bloglines to do what the many podcast readers do.
…I’m amassing to many social software accounts, which is another problem…I hear talk of Yahoo 360 accomodating this problem. But as always there isn’t one tool that does everything better than all the separate tools…I wish you could connect all the tools you like into your own build yourself platform.

There are a few RSS readers which sync with Bloglines which might help you out.
If you’re using windows, check out Doppler or Feed Demon. Feed Demon also works great as an offline Blogines reader.
