This blog is a space for me to share some ideas, thoughts, and feedback…from a librarian’s point of view.

I’ve been lurking the blogosphere thanks to Bloglines and leaving comments everywhere I go, so it’s time I had a place to store all my correspondence and join in the fun!

Like most people I’m interested in blogs, rss, social bookmarks, wiki’s, etc..so I’ll use this site to ask questions and discuss ideas about these topics and wishlist features.

My special interest is in current awareness tools (alert services, monitoring, clipping, newsmastering), also in following blog conversations…my first attempt at presenting this type of service is on a blog: ACNM library - what’s new!

By following the blogosphere I feel I have learnt so much about my topics of interest (I’ve learnt all these new skills from people that don’t even know I exist)…although it’s so fast paced with new developments everday that it’s sometimes hard to absorb. It’s so amazing how fast it is to share and communicate thoughts and ideas via blogs and rss, more than any other form of scholarly communication (ie. quality blogs) or media…

…there are no third parties or authorities, the power has come back to the people.

I feel once we have perfected, to a certain extent, personal publishing, information overload, and social networks that we can move on at large and use this technology to spread constructive disscussion about important and universal topics such as our earth, people, corporations, government, media, environment, etc…

…can blogs and rss save our planet!
